Exercise: Characterizing Risk – “BSLB in NB” • What do we do with the information & knowledge that we’ve assembled?? • The goal of this exercise is to characterize the risk of BSLB in the Province of New Brunswick, using the information presented (in handout). • Each group has a different focus: Establishment, Spread, Consequences

  2. Exercise: Characterizing Risk – “BSLB in NB” • Also, identify the level of uncertainty associated with each answer and identify relevant information gaps. • Please be prepared to present your risk characterization to the full group – nominate a spokesperson.

  3. Things to ponder… • Are likelihood elements (entry, establishment and spread) and impact elements (economic or environmental effects) equally important or are some elements more important than others? • How can quantitative and qualitative data be incorporated into a single conclusion?
