  3. You will each receive a piece a paper with a question and the appropriate answer. Go up to anyone in the class and ask them the question. Tell them the answer if they don’t know. They will also ask you a question and give you the answer if you don’t know. Swap papers with that person, move on to someone else and repeat the activity. Eventually you should know the answer to all 12 facts which are being passed around the room. They all relate to what we’ll be studying this term.  What do the facts tell us about Roman society?  Your task

  4.  Your task • Study the words on the sheet. Try to match a key word to a definition. • Test your partner to see how many words they have learned

  5.  Your task 1. Work out which sources are documents and which are artefacts. 2. Choose one source and describe the source. Explain 2 things you can learn about Roman Britain from it. 3. What are the limitations of the sources? 4. Choose one period of history you studied at primary school and list 3 pieces sources that give you evidence about it. 5. Name two sources that will tell future historians about life today that didn’t exist 2000 years ago at the time of the Roman

  6.  Extension task • Source 4 was a pot of face cream belonging to a Roman lady. Conduct some research and find out more about Roman beauty tips and fashion and create a short booklet. Tip – use the booklet template on the website

  7.  Your task I promise to hand in my homework on time, or get a note in my planner if there is a problem. What makes a good student of History? Produce a list of 5-6 promises you want to keep to ensure you reach your full potential and get the most out of your History lessons

  8.  Homework • Choose 3 objects (sources) from your bedroom. Photograph them and stick the photograph in your book. Next to the photo explain what future archaeologists might learn from these sources. • Cover your book with images from these topics: Romans, Normans, Black Death, Elizabeth 1, Civil War

  9.  Plenary • Explain these words: • Anachronism Artefacts Source • 3 curious facts about the Romans you’ve learned today • Choose one source from today – what can you learn from it • What are the limitations of that source?
