Raising Adults' Cultural Awareness through Cultural Heritage

This project aims to raise adults' cultural awareness and expression through cultural heritage. Activities include seminars, workshops, educational programs, and the creation of digital stories. The project also focuses on developing adult entrepreneurial skills and adopting handicrafts in modern life. The interim report and future activities are outlined.

Implemented activities The first year of the project 2014 - 2015 • Seminar - round table discussion “Cultural heritage - an integral part of social, cultural and economical life” • Workshop “Creating digital stories and the use of ICT in digitizing cultural heritage” • Educational program “Old ethnographic villages, houses, traditional handicrafts” • The digital stories on the topic “Old architecture, ethnographic villages, traditional handicrafts” • The project internet webpage • Traditional handicrafts. Workshop “Traditional Easter palm making” • Traditional handicrafts. Workshop “Folk straw decorations(Lithuanian- ‘sodai’)” • Communication platform on “Google groups” • The project logo • The project leaflet • Seminar - discussion “Development of adult entrepreneurial skills” • Good practice/workshop“Adopting handicrafts in modern life” • Educational progam/workshop “National costumes, symbols, traditions” • Workshop “National traditions” at Kandava’s Crafts Centre • The digital stories on the topic “National costumes, symbols and traditions”

  4. The project’s interim report All documents must be submitted by July 1, 2015 • We need the following documents: Travel and board & lodging (To LatviaandSweden). The actual costs for travel and board & lodging for project meetings etc. are documented by receipts or invoices for purchase of tickets, booking of hotel room etc. • Plane: receipts or invoices for purchase of air tickets and boarding cards; • Car: For use of car, the cost is calculated by multiplication of the distance driven (e.g. kilometer) and the distance rate (e.g. kilometer rate) used by the organization of the travelling participant. • an official document of the kilometer rates of the travelling participant’s organization • a print of the individual distance, e.g. from Google Maps or similar • a signed document with name and signature from the travelling participant in the car. We recommend you to use Annex IV – Certification car transportation • a document with a transparent calculation of distance and rate. • Taxi or rental of car: taxi or car rental costs are eligible and must be documented by specific receipts or invoices. Taxi or car rental should only be used when justified and specifically argued for. • Lodging: invoices for purchase of booking hotel room.

The project’s interim report Time invested in developing/mapping activities. - Annex II: Time invested - a document with a fully transparent calculation of the individual participant´s hourly rate based on the direct salary of the individual participant - the order of the organization head about the assignment of engaging a person or the persons in to the project Costsforseminars - Copies of invoices for seminars, workshops, which you have organized in your own country (Latvia, Sweden) - Copies of the contracts concluded with authors (Latvia, Sweden) - Annex V List of participants All documentation must be signed and certified by the legal representative of theorganisationresponsible for the costs, and must identify the price, type of cost,date(s), possible participant(s) and indicate the organisation and the project inquestion.

  6. The project’s interim report • Present copies of publications (newspaper, professional magazines, books etc.), where the project have been presented as soon as possible. Future activities STAGE 6 (June - September 2015) / STAGE 7 (October 2015) • Preparation of the Minutes (Sweden). • Preparation of digital material on the topic “Musical instruments, songs and dances”(All) • Preparation of the project mid-term report (All) • Presentation/ seminars of the project activities in local communities (All) • Development of the project webpage (LT) • Dissemination of project activities (All) 4-th partners meeting EE • Presentation of digital stories/ material on the topic “Musical instruments, songs and dances”. Comparative analysis, finding out similarities and differences (All) • Educational program/ Workshop “Traditional festivals and culinary heritage” (EE) • Seminar–discussion, sharing the best practices “Promotion of intercultural dialogue through traditions” (EE)
