Science Week at Roundwood • National Science & Engineering Week shines the spotlight each March on how science, technology, engineering and maths relate to everyday lives. • It helps to inspire the next generation of scientists with fun and participative activities. • We have some things we hope you will enjoy and get involved in.

Science Week Activities Nationally • http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/british-science-week • The theme for this year’s school poster competition is “Science on your doorstep”. • Science happens all around Britain and this year the school competition asks students to look around them and produce a poster about any aspect of science that happens in or around where they live. • Visit the Science Museum • http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/visitmuseum/calendar.aspx?date=08%2f03%2f2014

Science Week at Roundwood 1./ Interesting science related facts and videos in form time. 2./ House Science quiz. 3./ Science club activity every lunchtime. 4./ Year 9 talk, Professor Ron Douglas on a lecture called 'Visions of the deep’. 5./ Experiment at home Coke and Mentos competition 6./ Great Science Bake off 7./ Almost total eclipse Friday 20th March (period1)

  6. Science Week Competitions Great Scientific Bake off • Bake a science themed cake – KS3 and KS4/5 house competition • Bring into school for judging on Friday 20th March
