  13. 3.Cavalerii crestini/Colonizarea sasilor si secuilor • Pentru apararea granitelor si dezvoltarea economiei au fost colonizati: • a)secuii-vorbitori de limba maghiara, asezati la granita de SE a Transilvaniei, in comunitati autonome; • b)sasii-originali din Germania, vorbitori de limba germana; -asezati mai ales in S Transilvanieie,in asezari autonome,intemeiaza orasele Brasov, Sibiu, Medias,Sighisoara, beneficiind de privilegii regale-Bula de aur a sasilor-1224. • c)ordinele militare cavaleresti(rol de aparare in fata cumanilor si tatarilor): -Cavalerii Teutoni-Tara Barsei-intre 1211-1225; -Cavalerii Ioaniti-Banatul de Severin-1247.
