  2. When you make a systematic list, you reveal the structure of a problem. Sometimes the list is all you need to solve it. Plane schedules are systematic lists that help travels find information easily and quickly.

  3. Example 1 Loose Change Leslie has 25 cents in her pocket but does not have a quarter. If you can tell her all possible combinations of coins she could have that add up to 25 cents, she will give you the 25 cents.

  4. Example 2 Penny has a pile of 25 candies. She likes to arrange them into three piles, putting an odd number of candies into each pile. In how many ways could she do this?

  5. Example 3 At Hungry Ron’s Pizza Place, there are 5 ingredients for pizza: Pepperoni Sausage Green pepper Onion Mushroom How many ways can you make a 3-item (different items of course) pizza?
