  31. Seven Bridges Leaders KNOW: Leadership is an action – not a position Seven Bridges Leaders are Awesome!

  32. Seven Bridges Leaders KNOW: The Scouting program evolves in an effort to serve. The three classic AIMS OF SCOUTING have been: Character Development Citizenship Training Physical and mental fitness A fourth “AIM OF SCOUTING” has now been officially added – Leadership Development. This fourth aim of Scouting will be included in all the Scouts BSA and Cub Scout modules. Seven Bridges Leaders are Awesome!

  33. Seven Bridges Leaders KNOW: They know that they can Google “BSA Training Times” and access tons of opportunities for adult training (excuses to hang out together and have fun) and youth training. They know that they can Google “BSA Family Scouting” to easily access tons of information about our new programs and opportunities They know that they can log onto www.programresources.org or www.troopleader.org for ideas and guidance in delivering a great scouting program. What else do they know?

  34. IMPORTANT CHANGES AND NOTES FOR ANY NYLT COURSE All participants must be 14 years old or 13 years old and have completed eighth grade; no exceptions For 2019 only – Girls may attend NYLT without first achieving the First Class. NOTE: They must still meet the age requirements and first attend Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST.) (This will allow new troops to have trained youth leaders.) NYLT will be coed for the foreseeable future. If there are sufficient numbers, separate boy and girl patrols are recommended.

  35. WHAT GOOD IS A DEN CHIEF? • A DEN CHIEF: • IS A ROLE MODEL TO YOUNGER SCOUTS • BRINGS SCOUT SKILLS TO THE DEN • KNOWS SOME FUN ACTIVITIES • HELPS YOUNG SCOUTS WANT TO STAY IN SCOUTING • CONNECTS THE UNITS

  36. WHY EVEN BE A DEN CHIEF? IT COUNTS AS A RANK-REQUIRED POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY A DEN CHIEF LEARNS HOW TO PLAN AND LEAD THERE IS MORE ADULT ASSOCIATION CUBS OFTEN BECOME A LIFELONG YOUNGER FRIEND

  37. CARE AND FEEDING OF DEN CHIEFS Den Chief training will soon be online. Watch for it If you don’t plan to send Den Chiefs, it won’t happen SM, SA, CM, CA, DL or designated, responsible senior scout may train Den Chiefs STICK TO THE SYLLABUS! Pack committee should approve Den Chiefs to know who they are and to send a letter of approval to his/her SM to establish a SERVICE START DATE.

  38. Since I’m not chauffeuring anyone to the E.R. this time…. We will explore the THREE ILST modules and Service Hours Reporting during breakout https://blog.scoutingmagazine.org/2017/02/07/what-is-the-introduction-to-leadership-skills-for-troops-or-ilst/
