  1. Aivis Ilsters Taylore VanNorman 11-7-12 per.2

  2. Biography • Aivis Ilsters got his first camera when he was 7 years old and since then never put it away. He believed it corrected his vision, - at first physically and later also for his soul as he grew into seeing and appreciating beauty around him. It has been some while now since he understood that capturing people is what he liked the most. Photography has always only been a hobby, because he could never have afforded the countless film rolls or better cameras or lenses or photo studies. The digital era opened wider possibilities for him to capture light where he did not dare to take pictures with film cameras before. Lately his photographic interest has turned to dance photography and other kind of performance where emotions and skill are shown. He has seen some interesting guidelines through the years leading him to it as it has grown into Dream now which starts to dawn... “I’ve been folk dancer since I was 4, so maybe it adds to my photographic eye. At least i hope so.”

  3. His Work • Aivis sells/shows his work on many different websites • His main focus is on dance/portrait pictures, but he’ll take an occasion nature photo here and there • Dance pictures focus on people… dancing

  4. Pentax Aug. 4, 2011 The lighting in this picture is natural light, and it’s coming from the center. The main subject is the dancer because she’s basically the only thing in the picture. The photo looks good because you can only see the silhouette of the dancer, and the way she is posed. The ablum is called “Daydream” so I’m going to assume the picture has something to do with dreaming. I chose this picture because it is very beautiful, and well taken.

  5. Pentax K-5 June 28, 2012 The light in this picture is natural, and is coming from the right side. The main subject in the picture is the dancer because of the way the water moves around her and cause she’s the only person there. What makes this photo great is that she isn’t in the very center, she slightly to the right. I chose this photo because of the way the lighting hits the girl..

  6. The Land of Fairytale ll May 12, 2009 The lighting is natural, and it’s coming from the bottom right corner. I wouldn’t say that there is a main subject, but if I had to say something was… maybe the bottom right corner where the light is coming from? I like the texture of the clouds, and that they have different colors and shades. Well, I would say that if there were a story to this picture it’d have something to do with fairytales, hence the name.

  7. Latvia Aug. 4, 2011 The lighting in this picture is natural and it’s a bit to the right of the center. The main subject of the photo is the fabric the woman is holding. Aivis named the photo ‘Lativa’ because that’s what the fabric looks like. Nothing is in the center, which is nice, it’s all slightly off balance but in a good way.

  8. Pentax K20D March 11, 2012 The lighting is artificial, and it’s coming from the front. The main subject is the ballerina, because she’s the only thing on stage. I like how the background of the picture is very dark, because the ballerina sticks out more because of the contrast.

  9. Pentax K-5 June 28, 2012 The lighting in this picture is natural, and it’s coming behind the dancer. The main subject is the girl, because she’s the only thing there…Once again. I like the texture of the water and how it’s a reflection of the girl.
