  2. To Do List - prior to Group Advising • Update your four-year plan • Check URSA account for ‘Holds’ and registration date • Note: ‘Holds’ prohibit registration • Check for transfer credit accuracy

  3. Where are your classes located? • Carefullycheck the location of your classes • Make sure your classes are at UNC • DO NOT registerfor any class with: LOWR, LOV or COSP location • DIST = Extended Studies • {additional tuition cost}

  4. Important Information – CRN# • You are encouraged to check out the CRN# for classes • Valuable information can be found by clicking on the CRN# for any class: • Location, days, times class meets on campus • Prerequisites • Method of instruction • Required fees, field experience hours, etc… • Notes specific to the course • Link to view the catalog entry for the course

Course Information • Please click on the CRN number for specific course prerequisites and information • Especially: FILM 120, GEOG 390 • ART Concentration – contact connie.stewart@unco.edu regarding classes • ENG 218 (Introduction to Linguistics) is an option for ENG 318 in the language arts concentration *PTEP program requires a ‘B’ or better in ENG 122 OR ENG 123

  7. Waiting List If EDRD 314, 319; EDEL 320, 350; or EDF 370 are closed Put your name on the waiting list The waiting list is located on the PTEP website www.unco.edu/teach PTEP will notify you via Bear mail if a new section opens

  8. Courses at the community college • See the Community College Guaranteed Transfer Agreement form  on the ISET website and in the ISET office • www.unco.edu/ISET/forms • Grade of ‘C’ or higher transfers • Transfer credits do not affect UNC GPA • Transcripts should be sent to Admissions

EDFE 110 • Register for EDFE 110 (prerequisite for PTEP courses) after completing 15 cr. • Register for the section that lists Vicky Stromberger as the instructor • 0 credit course with one mandatory meeting • Print Checklist from www.unco.edu/teach website • Complete requirements by due date • See website above for deadline

Reading Minor • It is easy to add a reading minor with the following courses: • EDRD 314 (required for ISET major) • EDRD 319 (required for ISET major) • EDRD 340 (cumulative GPA – 2.75) • EDRD 410 (option - language arts concentration; cumulative GPA – 2.75 ) • EDRD 411 (prerequisite – grade of ‘B’ or higher in EDRD 410) • One of the following: • COMM 223 • COMM 350 • EDRD 422 • EDRD 408 (1-3 cr.)

  11. GPA is Very Important! • 2.75 cumulative GPA prerequisite: • EDF 370 • EDEL 350 • PSY 347 • EDSE 430 • TESL 370 • ART 444

  12. Course RepeatBest way to raise your GPA Only the most recent repeated course grade and credit is calculated toward GPA • All grades remain on the transcript • Contact Financial Aid regarding guidelines • Grade Replacement does affect COF Stipend • Information  www.unco.edu/registrar

  13. Summer Registration • Registration for summer 2013 begins April 1 • No PIN required • If applicable please check with Financial Aid regarding summer funding

Teacher Employment Days • Teacher Employment Days (TED) April 4 & 5 • More than 100 school districts from approximately 14 states will be represented • First-hand opportunity to observe the process of teacher candidate interviews • Volunteers are needed in numerous areas: • Greeting • Refreshments • Directions/information * Details will be sent via the Listserv

How to get your PIN • Attend Group Advising • Peel off name label (alphabetical by last name) • Go to ISET website www.unco.edu/iset • News and Events  ISET Group Advising Survey • Use PASSCODE from name label • Take ISET Group Advising survey • Submit • Write down PIN • Register on designated date (check on URSA)

  16. Final Notes • You can make an individual appointment after attending Group Advising if you have more questions or need to discuss issues privately • No PIN numbers are given in individual appointments
