  5. *He sold more than 250 million records making him one of the most successful artist of all time.

  6. *His single “Candle in the Wind”, in 1997, has sold over 33 million copies worldwide, and is the best selling single in Billboard history.

  7. *He married German recording engineer Renate Blauelon February 14, 1984

  8. *John had came out as bisexual in a 1976 interview with Rolling Stone but after his divorce from Renate Blauel in 1988 he told the magazine that he was comfortable being gay.
