  3. Seek a Godly Companion • Marriage is not for everyone… • Certain circumstances are more difficult – 1Corinthians 7 • If a man has doubts about his ability to provide, “But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” - Timothy 5:8 (NKJV)

  5. Seek a Godly Companion • The right woman can make a better man or a worse man… • Proverbs 31 is about the virtuous wife, yet notice what is said about her husband (Verses 11, 12, 23) • “But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the Lord, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.” - 1 Kings 21:25

  6. Train Your Children • Joshua said, “WE will serve the Lord” • “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” - Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

  7. Train Your Children • “For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint eldersin every cityas I commanded you” - Titus 1:5 (NKJV) • “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.” - Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)

  8. Train Your Children • Men need to accept the majority of spiritual responsibility… • “And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” - Ephesians 6:4 (NKJV)

  9. DARE TO STAND LIKE JOSHUA • Leading our family does not require us to be faultless. • Joshua made mistakes… • Joshua confronted and corrected his mistakes!
