  1. Networking 101 Michael Brzica Senior Director, Government Affairs Prime Therapeutics LLC

  2. Networking is… Not a bad thing! Like Dating Like Service Like Success

  3. Networking is Not a Bad Thing • It should not be insincere. • It should not be self serving. • It should allow you to be at your best.

  4. Networking is like Service • “So long as we love we serve; so long as we are loved by others, I would almost say that we are indispensable; and no man is useless while he has a friend.” ― Robert Louis Stevenson

  5. Networking is like Service • Don’t approach networking as a way to enrich yourself. • Understand their needs and put them above your own. • Avoid quid pro quo.

  6. Networking is Like Dating

  7. Networking is like Dating • Let the other person talk. • Find interesting people. • Don’t leave it to chance. • Don’t dismiss anybody out of hand. • Don’t be afraid to ask for a second date.

  8. Networking is like Success • Woody Allen was right – 80% of life is just showing up. • Get there on time. • Always have business cards handy.

  9. Conclusion • You get out of this what you put into it. • It takes time and effort. • The rewards can be immeasurable.
