Tourist attraction in Sweden • Ice Hotel • The Ice Hotel, located 120 miles north of the Arctic Circle, was first constructed in the 1980’s, and has to be built and rebuilt each winter and has a different design every time. It is built from more than 4,000 tons of blocks of ice from the Torne River, expanding up to 53,700 feet. • Furniture is made from slabs of ice, like beds and chairs. For some warmth and comfort they are draped in reindeer skin blankets. • The Ice Hotel has about 60 guest rooms, and features other kinds of rooms including: a sauna, reception hall, multimedia theatre room, and an ice chapel. • Guests of the hotel are given gear to protect them from the well below zero temperatures. Full beaver nylon jumpsuits and insulated body bags are a few things that are given to the guests.
