  2. Jacob Akin The background is the Libyan flag. It is the only flag to consist of only one color. • Government- Libya has a military dictatorship. • It is governed by the populace through local councils. Muammar • Al- Gaddafi is the president. • Locations- It has a Mediterranean coastline. • It has an area of 1.76million square kilometers. • It borders Egypt on the east , Sudan on the south east , Chad and Niger on the south, Algeria and Tunisia on the west.

  5. Dawson Black • Important Places-Cyrene Ancient City is an ancient Greek city founded in 630 B.C. It Is present day Shahhat . Libya and it is also the important and oldest among the other five greek cities of this region. • Physical Features- Most of Libya’s landforms and lakes, plateaus ,mountains ,and deserts .One very famous desert can be found here .The Sahara Desert.

  6. Dawson Black 2 • Around 96 BC the Romans took control over the city and served as the main state for the Romans for about 18 years. The city also prospered for some years but in the year 115 AD a major part of the city was destroyed as a part of Jewish revolt. The city again prospered during the reign of Emperor Hadrian, but in the 365 AD an earthquake struck the city destroying temples and buildings.

  9. Libyan People and Their Environment • Libya has been affecting their environment ever since they learned their was valuable resources there. They are very rich compared to most other African countries due to selling their valuable resources.

  10. Dalton Dickson • President MoammarGadhafi is the current president of Libya and to most Libyans, he isn’t doing a very good job. He is thought crazy by most Americans. He is currently being tried to be kicked out of office.

  11. Tucker Douglass • Religion- Islam became Libya’s top religion in the 7th century when Muslim conquerors came and wiped out the Berbers by the 8th century. • Language- Arabs is the language that most people use the second language is English but the government discourages the use of it.

Extra The U.S. will try again Wednesday to evacuate American citizens from Libya, this time by ferry, as concerns rise about longtime leader Moammar Qaddafi's unpredictable behavior. • As security forces unleashed a bloody crackdown on protesters demanding Qaddafi's ouster, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton called the violence "completely unacceptable."
