QA at AIFIRA, CENBG • QA overview: • QA committee: scientific manager, technical manager, technical and PCR staff • Accelerator and beamline technical control • Log book: accelerator adjustment parameters, comments on the accelerator and beamlines functioning, feedback of the users… • Maintenance book: summary of all the interventions on the accelerator and the beamlines after each maintenance • Example of a quality process: Test of all radiation monitoring and safety system after each maintenance • Experiment selection and users’ feedback • PAC every 6 months based on formal user applications : scientific committee with inner, national and international experts (President: G. Grime)  Experiments are discussed with users during the meeting and the potential difficulties are identified • Radiation Safety control: PCR staff presence and security form edition at the beginning of each experiment • Scientific report written by the users after each experiment with a feedback on the eventual issues encountered • Inter-Lab activities • Round robin: We propose a inter-calibration procedure with sectioning cryofixed gelatin gel standard for PIXE (SUR, CNRS, JSI)

  2. Minutes of the last QA meeting: • Accelerator (HVEEE Singletron 3.5 MV): • Energy calibration (90° Magnet) may be scheduled for the second semester : 27Al(p,g)28Si,… • Energy stability: identification of the occasional dysfunction • Upgrade of the GVM (New system + old model fixed) • Main chilling loop of accelerator: additional filters will be added • Beamlines: • Calibration of PIXE detectors (3 detectors) done • Improvement of doublet aligning for the nanobeam • beam resolution enhanced • Thermal drift on sample holder used for the nanobeam fixed • Tomography on nanobeam checked • Upgrade of the irradiation beamline • New version of the control command in progress • Bio Lab : • Completely new 60 m2 L2 laboratory available at CENBG • Previous culture lab available for external users
