  1. Before arriving you must get a Student visa... • A Student visa can be obtained through the closest Turkish Embassy (Consulate) in your country with the acceptance letter we will be providing you with! • A Student visa is compulsory for getting officially registered and applying for a Residency Permit • A Residency Permit is required to open a bank account and benefit from the state health insurance

  2. WEBSITE http://yabancilar.iem.gov.tr/ The above link is to the Foreign Office website, where you can book your appointment.

  3. PLEASE NOTE: you can chose the last option (the MAIN police office in Emniyet Fatih) OR you can chose your local Police office e.g. Şişli, Beyoğlu, Yenibosna.

  4. Select the available option. As you can see there are none. There are supposed to be new appointments every day at 4 p.m. I suggest that you get an appointment as early in the day as possible. The cashier (where you need to pay roughly 198 Turkish Lira for the permit) closes at 16.30. If you have an appointment in the evening it means you will need to go 3 times in total. Once to the appointment, the second time to pay and the third to pick it up. If you have an appointment in the morning you can do the second and third step in one go!

  5. For your appointment you will need:1. 4 photographs2. A photocopy of your passport (picture and visa page)3. Student letter (in Turkish) that we will give you at the Orientation Programme4. Your passport

  6. Istanbul Kültür University is not and will not be responsible for your Residency Permit! • THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION!
