  1. Why? Terra Grid requires tight security measures within CISL. TIGGE is short of resources. Reconfiguration is necessary. Bison (SUN V880) is out of date and out of SUN’s support roadmap. Changing DSS Systems GOAL To move huron outside of UCAR firewall. To increase computer resources for TIGGE and keep it outside of UCAR firewall. To replace Bison with a SUN system running solaris to minimize the system change impact. Major Changes Disks hosted by huron have to be moved. SAN stays outside UCAR firewall. Need to find new dsswork storage hosted by bison. New ways to do file transfer (like read programs) and data transfer between bison (inside) and huron (outside). New way to run mysql operations is to be determined. One-time password will be used everywhere. Timeline Dec 2007 - New TIGGE systems in place. Jan 2008 – Finish TIGGE reconfiguration. Feb 2008 – New dsswork storage, bison replacement in place. Spring 2008 – Move huron outside firewall.
