  2. Outline: Soft tissue injury Bone Lung Mediastinum Great vessels.

  3. Normal chest

  4. Subcutaneous emphysema: Soft tissue injury / fracture

  5. Subcutaneous emphysema: could be from rib fracture, stab wound, larynx or tracheal injury

  6. Blunt chest injury with fracture ribs, subcutaneous and mediastinal emphsyema, extend down to abdominal wall and retroperitoneum

  7. Lung contusion: Seen as patchy / alveolar density

  8. Unilateral lung contusion, DDx aspirated pneumonia

  9. Pulmonary contusion, DDx pneumonia

  10. Lung contusion

  11. Air bronchograms: Resulted from: Alveolar pathology eighter fluid (exudate, edema blood) or cell (alveolar cell ca) or alveolar atelectasis (surfactant def.) Pulmonary contusion

  12. Pulmonary edema / ARDS as a consequence of lung contusion with subpneumonic gas

  19. Pneumo-mediastinum: Better seen in lateral view as lucent streak outline great vessel and heart

  20. Rib fractures, subcutaneous emphsyema, mediastinal emphysema, pneumopericardium and lung contusion.
