  2. What dose Death March mean? • A death march is a forced march of prisoners of war • The prisoners of war were starved and beaten • Many died

  3. What happened • Thousands of prisoners died • Exposure, starvation, and exhaustion. • Prisoners had to walk through the winter for days • Started 1944 and ended 1945

  4. Information • In 1944: allied and the soviet union • April 1945, was the first group to walk • Walked 63+ miles • Thousand walked and thousands died
