Workshop Objectives: • Participants will learn how to navigate and search HIA. • Participants will learn how to subscribe to a listserv and what it is all about. • Participants will learn to search the databases. • Participants will learn to submit their contact, project and resource information into the databases. • Participants will acknowledge the benefits of utilizing Health in Action to maximize their practice.

  13. HIA Update A monthly update of what’s new on HIA that comes right to your email inbox. Subscribe through health networking or by being a contact on the people/agencies database.

Searching the Databases Each of the databases can be searched by: • Program, resource, contact and research project name or title • Issue, keywords, descriptors, and areas of interest • Health Region, city • Organization • Target audience, publication year, authors &/or classification (for resource search) • Option to search for evaluation &/or older adult information

  16. Adding Information to the Databases • Click on Add/Update button under databases • Enter contact information • Fields colored red must be entered • You will receive an ID number and password (write it down for future updating of information).

  17. Making changes to existing information ... • Click on Add or Update Information on the HIA homepage. • Click on update or add information. • Enter your login ID and password (contact HIA if lost ID & password) • Edit as required.

  18. How you can be a part of HIA • Be a contact • Include your project/programs & resources • Submit your news releases & events • Submit feature articles • Subscribe to a listserv • Promote the site to colleagues (HIA postcard on website) • Complete the online survey
