  2. R.U.S.H. When you take the test, we don’t want you to rush, but we want you to remember what R.U.S.H. stands for! R= read the questions first (it’s not cheating!) U= underline key words or vocabulary in thequestions S= search the passage for any important vocabulary words they want you to know H= highlight- be an active reader (underline, ask questions, take notes)

  4. While You’re Reading The Questions… Step #2: Underline key words or vocabulary in the questions

  16. Now That You’ve Read the Questions, and Underlined Important Words in the Questions… Step #3: Search the passage for any important words they want you to know!

  18. Now That We Know Our Vocabulary… Step #4: Highlight- be an active reader! Underline, ask questions in the margins, take notes in the margins! Start reading… use what you know!

  19. After Reading The Passage… Go back to the questions (you’ve already read them once) and carefully read them again. Choose the answer that you feel best answers each question. Be confident in your choices.
