Kent Avenue Generating StationSite History • Operated 1905-1989 as power generating station (coal ash/water mixture pumped to ash pit); electric distribution until 1998 • Original Williamsburg power plant demolished in 1950s • Remaining power plant was abated for asbestos/lead paint and demolished in 2007-2009 • July 2010 Voluntary Cleanup Agreement (VCA) with NYSDEC for the entire Site • Former National Grid Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) located adjacent to south property line
