Facts about the Titanic • The Titanic lies 12,600 ft (over 2.33 miles) at the bottom of the ocean floor. • The 2 pieces of the Titanic lay 1,970 ft apart from one another on the ocean floor. • The Titanic was rediscovered on July 14th 1986 , 74 yrs after it sank. • April 14th 2012 was the 100th anniversary the Titanic’s sinking.

  4. Survivors of the Titanic • 1,503 people died total including passengers and crew. • Only 705 people survived. • 962 lifeboat seats were required by law ,but only 2,208 lifeboat seats needed. • There were 472 lifeboat seats not used.
