  1. Virtual PupsHow to sponser train, and the tips and tricks on how to be a good trainerCreated By: Lolah_Is_My_PuppySome Sources: www.virtualpups.com

  2. What should I know? • What you should know, is the starting things on how to sponser train. If you are inexperienced, the best thing you can do, is to try to start with your own dog, and get some practice, before actually training for money • You should have 100 Skill Points in training before starting to train • You should know what do different skills mean, for different events • What training methods are recommended for the breed • If you are going to use Rough House, or Friendly Play, and what they are used for • What do different stats mean, and how can you raise them

  3. What do the different stats mean? Stats vary from what events the dog will be competing in. If it is a event like Racing, dogs get a 10% bonus for Aggression, but in Herding, dogs get a -10% Penalty, so you should lower the aggression. • Stat Information can be found http://www.virtualpups.com/help/k9s.php#stats, but it was too large to put in this

  4. How can I tell what the dog’s name, age, and who it’s parents are? By looking at the top, under the navigation bar, you can see something like this, similar to this example: Age Bloodlines Name Parent’s name Breed Gender

  5. What are stats? • Stats are created by 3 things: If the parents are Fully Trained Breed, and parents untouched birth stats If was left in Boarding Kennel (Adaptability and Courage will raise when exposed to boarding kennel • Stats can range from 0% - 200%, 250% for aggression, and unlimited for Loyalty • The more stars, up to 4 stars, the more potential the dog has in the area • The better birth stats, the better chance the dog has if fully trained has winning in that area • Here is a example of the worst stats you can get, vs. the best stats you can get:

  6. What does it look like if I’m a sponser trainer? • This is what your training page will look like if you are a sponser trainer: • Don’t worry, the titles that you see on the side, will change, so example, Fetch, will turn to Retrieve, etc. Fully Trained 100% Discipline, 100% Sport, 80% Work Not Trained

  7. How to train for each skill • These are skills: • Discipline: Groom • Show: Sit until you have the option of Stay • Sport: Fetch until You have the option of Retrieve • Working: Object Identification until you get Wearing a Harness • You don’t stop training once you get to those! 2 Skills can be filled to 100%, and 1 skill can be at 80%, so you get 280%, or 280/200!

  8. What are Skill Points? • Skill Points can be purchased with Fame Points, that can be made by eventing your dog. It takes a long time to make fame! I’ve been eventing my dogs since , March 2007, because I was training only for a very long time, and I only have 4121 Fame Points! For a Training Kennel Business Skill: Charge more money, and have grander prizes on events! You will also be able to feature your dogs in the search at 50 skill. Breeding Skill: Doesn’t really effect training kennels. Handling Skill: Dog handling is a necessity for all players who want to excel in showing their dog in any event. It is the only skill that is available to all account types. To gain better event results, you can spend your fame points in this skill. Training Skill: Sponser Trainers whom excel in this skill will receive a bonus when training their dogs, when spending fame in this skill. You can also do what I do, lock 100 Fame into Training, and switch between Business and Handling with the other 100.

  9. How can I get my name out there? • There are many different ways to advertise your services, you can: • Post on the Bark Park Board • Send out messages • Get us to make you a website for your kennel • Show off your dogs! • Some kennels you can buy advertising for a period of time at There are many different ways, but those are only a few. If you event your dogs, and they always get 1sts, 2nds, or 3rds, people will want you to be training there dogs, so they can have champions too!
