  1. PCB Layout Design Narrative RCD Laser System Danny Barjum Corey Lane Ryan Scott

  2. Contents • Overview of the PCB • PIC constraints • nRF2401A constraints (RF Transceiver) • BlueSMirF constraints (Bluetooth) • Pixart Camera constraints • Power Considerations • Preliminary board map

  3. Overview of the PCB • PCB is for camera section of device • Small as possible • Independently powered • Two layer board

  4. PIC18 Constraints • Not many constraints • 28 Pin SOIC • By-pass Capacitors

  5. nRF2401A Constraints • Already on its own PCB • Custom footprint needed • No ground plane underneath • Connection to main PCB through either headers or soldered directly.

  6. BlueSMiRF Constraints • Similar to usmirf • Also on it’s own PCB • Custom footprint needed • Placed with headers or mounted on surface with lots of solder

  7. Pixart Camera • Similar to a DIP • Hard to find footprint • Measure dims. using caliper • Custom footprint

  8. Powering the Board • All components require at least 3.3 volts • Battery powered • Haven’t yet decided what battery will best fit our design (i.e. alkaline, Li-ion, etc)

  9. PCB Board Map Batteries PIC18F46J11 RF Transceiver Pixart camera Bluetooth Device
