Meaningful Use for Pediatricians Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services CMS sponsored program Provides subsidies for physicians that implement electronic medical records and show “Meaningful Use”. Focus on Medicare & Medicaid patients Pediatricians must have minimum 20% of patient encounters with Medicaid patients to qualify for subsidy (>30% for full payment) Focus of MU Stage 2 is on Transitions of Care and sharing of patient information between providers of care as patients move from one healthcare setting to another Several key components for peds: Transition of Care (TOC) documents DirectTrust addresses for physicians Patient Portal ePrescribing
