  1. stainless steel castings' hardness how to affect its processing The properties of stainless steel casting china directly affect its processing quality. The hardness value is an important indicator of castings' processing quality. 1. Brinell hardness: mainly used to for measuring hardness of castings, forgings, non-ferrous metal parts, hot-rolled blanks and annealing pieces, with measuring range ≯ HB450. 2. Rockwell hardness: HRA is mainly used for measuring high hardness of pieces, namely for the material and surface hardness with over HRC67, such as hard alloy, nitriding steel, the measuring range HRA> 70. HRC is mainly used for measuring hardness of steel parts (suh as carbon steel, tool steel, alloy steel, etc.) after quenching or tempering, with the measuring range HRC20 ~ 67.

  2. 3. Vickers hardness: it is used to measure the hardness of thin pieces and steel plate parts, and can also be used to measure hardness of surface-hardened part, such as parts after carburizing, cyanidation, nitriding. Of course, hardness is an extremely important index of mechanical property , which reflects the mechanical property of the workpiece to some extent. Compared with other properties tests (such as tensile, impact, torsion test), hardness is simple, feasible and convenient with other characteristics. Here concludes some advantages as follow: ① The hardness of the workpiece has certain relationship with its other mechanical properties (hardness, plasticity and toughness, etc.).Higher hardness, greater strength, less ductility and toughness. Hardness of metal also relates to its strength to some extent. when the hardness of

  3. carbon structural steel is greater than 175HB, then σb ≈ 0.36HB; ② When measuring hardness , it will not damage the parts, just leaving only indentation in the partial area, so with no impact on its use because of no need of processing into a special shape; ③ Measuring hardness is simpler than mechanical properties measuring. It just needs polishing parts surface or achieving the required roughness; ④ It is practical to measure hardness of very thin metal layer, metal in very small volume, parts with complex shape.
