    3. In this project, we identified communities (counties) in the southeastern U.S. that are highly suitable for wood power generation Use criteria such as forest biomass available, urban wood waste generation, population density, population growth 1990-2000, personal income per capita and personal income growth (1990-2000), share of land area in wildland-urban interface/intermix, and existing electric power generation. Developed these indicators for all 1342 counties in 13 southern states. 9. Developed suitability index for biomass power. Note that index is weighted for forest biomass per hectare (multiplicative factor). All other factors are additive. What other formulations of the index could be used?Developed suitability index for biomass power. Note that index is weighted for forest biomass per hectare (multiplicative factor). 11. Database of county socioeconomic data available on website. Criteria are expressed as rank scores. Which communities have relatively more abundant forest biomass resources? Which communities have high population growth? Which communities have high affluence (per capita income)? Which communities have a high share of wildland-urban interfax/intermix? Which communities have a high level of power generation per capita? Which communities have the highest overall suitability? Are any of these results surprising?
