  3. July 4th, 2011 SLIS received report of sheen near NHT from civilian boaters • Pollution Investigators respond, layer of hard boom deployed/and sorbents • July 5th, no source discovered. USCG hires Clean Harbors Environmental Quick Facts

  4. July 7th NHT hires Alpine Environmental. Source discovered to be leaking facility pipe. • Currently over 40,000 gallons of NO.2 oil recovered Quick Facts

  6. Boom at outfall on NHT property. Approximately 630 gallons recovered.

  14. July 10th, 2011 SLIS received report from CT DEEP of tar balls on Grass Island • PI’s investigate, locate tar balls and hire Moran Environmental. • Moran Environmental initially recovered 400 lbs of product Quick Facts

  16. Grass Island is home to the Great Egret, Roseate Tern, Yellow Pimpernel and many other species. • It is also home to many bivalves, crabs and anadromous fish Environmentally sensitive area
