Calendar of Events • May 6th SOAR Presentation 2:25-2:45 2nd and 3rd graders • May 13th –Elementary Field Day • K-2 9:30 am 3-6 1:00pm • May 13th-Sower Presentation • 3-6 grades @ 10:10 am on playground • May 16th – Elementary Music Program • Teachers 6:40 kids 6:45 • May 17th – Mary Henning Author Visit • K-2 12:15-12:45 3-6 1:00-1:45

  3. Calendar of Events • May 18th- Day at the park • May 18th- A.R. challenge winners- science fun – 9:00-10:30ish • May 19th 11:30 dismissal • May 20- UNL research project presentation • K-2 teachers 2:00 in Lori’s room • May 23-25 Science Curriculum Development • May 26 Teacher Check-out

Challenge Winners • Science experiments for outside: • Big Bubbles • Iron extraction • Needle through a balloon • Mentos and diet coke • Burping bottle • String telephone • Crazy putty • Soft shell egg • Test your dominant side • Protect a falling egg • Which absorbs more heat • Make your own fake snot • Static electric balloon and soda can

  5. State Writing • Reminder: please record scores in each student’s writing folder 1st-6th grades • If you don’t have folders- the supplies for making them are in the filing cabinet in the elementary office

  6. L to J • Can I get the Histogram data next week? • Is there a way I can help with L to J organization for next year and data submission?

  7. Ordering Materials • Saxon Math= ordered • Science Fusion = ordered • Time for Kids ? • Handwriting? • School Specialty- by the end of the year

  8. School Supply Lists • Generic-Let’s keep the supply lists as generic as possible. • 3rd grade supplies, 1st grade supplies, etc. • You can put a copy in with report cards if you want • Be sure and leave a copy or two with Sandy

  9. High Ability Learners Plan • Grades 3-6 • Ties in with next year’s professional development- Differentiated Instruction

  10. Elementary Computer Lab • The technology committee voted to pursue a computer lab • Will be voted on by the board to utilize the technology funds for a computer lab • Keyboarding next year? • Grades 3 and 4 ? 2-3 times a week for 30 min.?

  11. Elementary Computer Lab • Things I would like to see us use the elementary computer lab for • Keyboarding • Science fusion • NeSA prep tests through nestandards3 • MAPS (at some point-currently not in the works for next year) • P.E./ Health projects • High Ability Learners independent study

  13. 8 Keys?? • Do you want to continue with the 8 keys again next year or would you like me to research something else?
