  1. Freshwater Wetlands Biome Research By Jonathan McDonald

  2. Freshwater WetlandsGeography & Climate • Location-southwest • Description-very wet ground • Soil type-rich plant nutrients • Precipitation-2 to 3 inches • Temperature range-39 to 81 degrees F • Climate-cold

  3. Freshwater WetlandsBiodiversity • Some animals are frogs, toads, salamanders, birds ,and leeches. • There are about twelve types of species in this habitat.

  4. Freshwater WetlandsAdaptations Needed for Survival • A plant called a duckweed can float on the top of the water and absorb the nutrients from the water. • A frog can lay its eggs and just swim away because the tadpoles are able to breathe underwater.

  5. Freshwater WetlandsInteractions of Biotic and Abiotic • The duckweed plant has long roots to get nutrients from the water. • The water holds nutrients that the duckweed sucks out of the water.

  6. What is Biodiversity? • The difference between biotic and abiotic factors.

  7. How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? • They all have a niche or a special ability that keeps the place running smooth.
