  2. Where Do They Live? • Koalas are native to Australia and when we think of Koalas we think of Australia. • They tend to inhabit eucalypt forests which are forests full of white box trees.

  3. Why are they endangered? • There are many reasons why koalas are endangered. For one there habitats are constantly destroyed as the forests are being constantly chopped down. • They actually don’t have any natural predators they are being hunted by humans for their fur and to be stuffed 

  4. How Many Are There Left In the World? • There are under 100, 000 koalas left in the world. • There were originally 10, 000, 000! • In the wild there are just as few as 45, 000

  5. Death rate • Human population increase in Australia is driving koalas to extinction • The Australian foundation did an experiment and found out that out of 362 koalas taken into care only 92 survived , a shocking 73.5% death rate. • At the moment the koalas status is endangered and almost extinct

  6. Random facts • Koalas do no drink water, they rarely do, their appetite of leaves provides them with the liquid they need!!! • They spend almost 20 hours a day sleeping or resting ! • They are nocturnal! • Their tail provides a comfortable seat when sitting on branches of trees
