  1. “What would happen if we ran out of Crude Oil?” By: Cynthia Santillanez(:

  2. What does Crude Oil mean? • Crude Oil Means: Petroleum as it comes from the ground, before refining. Crude Oil Pump!

  3. Were in the world is Crude Oil produced? • Russia, • Saudi Arabia, • United States, • Iran, • China.

  4. Were is Crude Oil produced in the United States? • Texas, • Alaska, • California, • Louisiana, • North Dakota.

  5. What fuels are made from Crude Oil? • That picture is a picture of fuels that are made from Crude Oil and you can see that Gasoline is made more from Crude Oil.

  6. Offshore Drilling. • Offshore Drilling means the operation of oil wells on the continental shelf, sometimes in water hundreds of feet deep. • Onshore means that you are on land and Offshore means off land in the water.

  7. How Offshore Drilling work? • The International Law of the Sea is a law that dictates where people can drill in the ocean. • The legal limit is 200 miles Offshore.

  8. Offshore drilling process. • First they build a oil rig that floats • Then from the oil rig they have a huge drill that goes down to the ocean floor. • When they drill they have to be careful so that crude oil won’t go in the ocean and make a mess.

  9. Refining. • Refining means to bring to a fine or a pure state; free from impurities: to refine metal, sugar, or petroleum. • Oil Refining means a factory, just as a paper mill turns lumber into paper, a Oil Refining takes crude oil and turns it into gasoline and many other useful petroleum products.

  10. Oil Refining chart. • This Refining chart is important because it is a certain machine that gets Crude Oil and makes it go through a certain tube, and that tube is ether small or big it has small sizes and big sizes and it makes Crude Oil into other things.

  11. 4 products from Crude Oil. • Gasoline • Petroleum wax • LPG (liquid petroleum gas) • Petroleum coke (tar)

  12. Gasoline. • Cars • Dirt Bikes • Airplanes • Jet planes • Quads

  13. Petroleum wax. • Paraffin wax, that makes candles, and crayons. • Microcrystalline wax makes polishes, laminated-paper products, and linings. • Petroleum jelly makes lip gloss, and Vaseline.

  14. LPG. • LPG is a clean-burning fossil fuel that can be used to power internal combustion engines. • So LPG makes cars work and turns certain things on that need fuel. • You can use it for cooking and anything you can use for propane.

  15. Cement Power Paper Aluminum Chemical Calcining Refining, Lime Steel Trading Banking Terminaling industries. Petroleum coke industries.

  16. Renewable Energy Sources. • Renewable means: Energy sources can be replenished in a short period of time. • Biomass — including wood and wood waste, municipal solid waste, landfill gas, and biogas, ethanol, and biodiesel.

  17. Renewable Energy sources. • Water (hydropower) • Geothermal • Wind • Solar • These things are good because they are always around. They never go away.

  18. I think: • That running out of crude oil would not be cool, because then we wouldn’t have plastic anymore. We wouldn’t have so many things that we have right now without crude oil. But I do think that we should do more research on crude oil, so it won’t run out so fast.
