(1) Use of conceptual model and SDI in the federal Reports on SD • Three legal functions fulfilled in the federal Reports by the Task Force Sustainable Development: • assess the existing situation in Belgium; • assess the current policy on sustainable development; • provide some tools and a road map to build sustainable development scenarios for the future.

(2) Criteria for the construction of the TransGovern model • The model should be easily understood by experts from various disciplines • The model should highlight the role of public policy to govern a sustainable development • The model should allow to represent the international sustainable development commitments

(3) The TransGovern model Two parallel processes in the work of our team: • Elaboration of the third Federal Report on SD and definition of an integrated model “model TransGovern” reflecting the transformation of our living conditions.  Published in the third Federal Report on SD 2. Elaboration of a SDI set largely used in the 2 first reports and classified according to the DPS(I)R Published in a Supplement to our third Federal Report on SD

(3) CONCLUSIONS • TransGovern model: • contribution to the need of analytical integrated framework in order to govern SD in a pragmatic and integrated way (stressed by the OECD); • useful & relevant model to improve dialogue between experts from different disciplines; • can be applied to various themes; • useful to think about relevant SDI and to classify SDI.
