  5. The Personal a Rule Use a personal a with alguien, nadie, quién, alguno and ninguno if they refer to people: No oigo a nadie. ¿Maestros? No veo a ninguno. ¿A quién estás llamando?

  6. Exceptions: Personification The personal a may be used with personified things like countries and pets: Susana extraña mucho a Nicaragua. Nosotros amamos a nuestro perro.
