  3. Connect to Donate Life Ohio • Become connected to the www.ohadonatelife.org • Lots of tools to use • Letters; press releases etc.

Impactful Kick-off • Plan an impactful Kick-off • Endorsed by CEO letter to all employees • Newspaper coverage • Engagement of a LCO Ambassador • GLHS was fortunate to have a staff member whose husband had received a liver 2 years ago and is a trained LCO Ambassador • The wife many times accompanied him to share her journey. She is very dynamic and emotionally engaged in promotion of Donate life

  5. Develop registration opportunities within your organization • Registration booth outside of the cafeteria once a month • Provide the Brochure, LCO pen and demonstrate the ease of filling out the application • Pre-addressed envelops that they had the option to mail in or for us to mail it in • If the individual is already a registered donor, we had a miniature Green Chair for them to sign and we posted them on the bulletin board outside of the cafeteria. • We also had a poster displayed in each department of these registered donors.

  6. Identify presentation opportunities • Hospital Board • Hospital Leadership • Physician meetings • Hospital sponsored support groups (Diabetic, Stroke, Parkinson) • Hospital sponsored Health Fair

  7. Community Organizations • County Trustees/Clerks meeting • Public Retirement Organization • Ohio Division of Parks • Area State Parks • Fish Hatchery • Civic organizations • City Police/Fire/EMT meetings • Motorcycle Clubs

  8. Community Organizations • Read your local newspapers for articles about community organizations • Kiwanis • Optimist • Rotary • Council on Aging

  9. Area Schools • Provided contact information and established presentation engagements • Driver’s Education presentations • Rhodes State College • Medical Assistants program; considering Donate Life as part of the Ethics curriculum • Presented to the American Association of Medical Assistants

  10. Area Manufacturing Plants • Occupational Health contacts • Payroll stuffers • Posters for the break room • 550 exposures

  11. Radio/Newspaper • Local radio stations • Newspaper articles of presentations to various community organizations • Become “news-worthy” with your activities

  12. Be A Hero • Think outside the box. • Do not be shy • Engage individuals who have benefitted from a tissue/eye or organ donation
