  1. A Nation That Neither Knows Nor Fears God • (Romans 3:16-18) • Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known." "There is no fear of God before their eyes." (NKJV)

  2. Are You Ready to Give a Defense? • (1 Peter 3:15) • But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; (NKJV)

  3. Paul Gave a Defense • Acts 22:1 (NKJV) • 1 “Brethren and fathers, hear my defense before you now.” • 1 Corinthians 9:3 (NKJV) • 3 My defense to those who examine me is this:

  4. What does the evidence suggest? • Psalm 19:1–6 (NKJV) • 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. 2 Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. 3There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. 4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, 5 Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. 6 Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

  5. I Don’t Believe in Athiests • "I think the probability of a supernatural creator existing (is) very, very low.“ • How certain is Mr. Dawkins? • “6.9 out of seven" Richard Dawkins

  6. “There is no Gold in China.”

  8. Did we get here via a ‘big bang’? • “Our ideas about the history of the universe are dominated by big bang theory. But its dominance rests more on funding decisions than on the scientific method”. • He continued: • “Big bang theory relies on a growing number of hypothetical entities—things that we have never observed. Inflation, dark matter, and dark energy are the most prominent. Without them, there would be fatal contradictions between the observations made by astronomers and the predictions of the big bang theory …the big bang theory can’t survive without these fudge factors.” • – written in an open letter Eric Lerner, president of Lawrenceville Plasma Physics in West Orange, New Jersey

  9. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • The universe exists. What could be its cause? Only three possibilities: • The universe is eternal. • The universe created itself. • The universe was created by some force outside itself and thus superior to it.

  10. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • Is the universe eternal? • “As a result of the most recent discoveries we say with a fair degree of confidence that our universe has not existed forever; it began abruptly, without apparent cause, in a blinding event that defies scientific explanation.”– Dr. Robert Jastrow

  11. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • Is the universe eternal? • “There are in nature radioactive clocks, so to speak, such as thorium and uranium. One half of each mass of these materials decomposes every so many years, and one half of this in so many years, and so on. But such radioactive elements still exist, and are still disintegrating. They have not been disintegrating forever, since in an eternity they would have already decomposed.” - Dr. James D. Bales

  16. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • Is the universe eternal? • “You must believe in some kind of creation, he argues, because the only alternative to it would be to say that the material of the universe is infinitely old, a thesis impossible to hold when one looks at the problem of hydrogen and the universe. If the universe were infinitely old there would be no hydrogen left because hydrogen is steadily converted into helium through the universe and this conversion is a one way process, that is, hydrogen can’t be produced in any appreciable quantity through the breakdown of other elements. If matter were intimately old, the unive yrs couldn’t consists chiefly of hydrogen as it does.” – Fred Hoyle

  17. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • The universe exists. What could be its cause? Only three possibilities: • The universe is eternal. • The universe created itself. • The universe was created by some force outside itself and thus superior to it.

  18. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • Is the universe eternal? • There is no observable law in nature that allows matter, from nothing, to fashion itself.

  19. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • The universe exists. What could be its cause? Only three possibilities: • The universe is eternal. • The universe created itself. • The universe was created by some force outside itself and thus superior to it.

  20. God Must Exist Because… • How does the acorn ‘know’ how to grow?

  21. God Must Exist Because… • … of the Law of Cause and Effect. • Hebrews 3:4 (NKJV) • 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. • Romans 1:18–20 (NKJV) • 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse

  22. God Must Exist Because… • …design demands a designer.

  23. God Must Exist Because… • …design demands a designer. Not Intelligent Design? These = more complex! Intelligent Design

  24. God Must Exist Because… • …man is a moral creature. • Romans 2:14–15 (NKJV) • 14 for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)

  25. God Must Exist Because… • …man is a worshiping creature. • Acts 17:22–24 (NKJV) • 22 Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; 23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: 24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.
