State Leadership Conference Where: Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center – State College, PA When : January 29-31, 2010 Why: SLC is a great way for the youth of your county to interact with other members from across the state while learning valuable leadership skills! License to Lead 2010

  3. Ok….What’s Next?? Capital Days! • Takes place every April • Located in Harrisburg, PA • Members meet your local senators • & representatives • Participate in mock legislation

  4. Is that it? No way!!! State Achievement Days • Takes place on PSU’s main campus – University Park • Memories which last a lifetime! • Usually the end of July! • Avian Bowl! • Archery! • New Friends! • Tractor Driving! • Orienteering! • Opening speaker! • Fashion Review! • Livestock Judging!

  5. Want leadership skills? Challenge yourself! • Help out other clubs in your area when they need it or get together and do a service project! • Help at a local food cupboard • Clean up a local cemetery • Attend the state events

  6. Pennsylvania State 4-H Council Ready to help others? If you answeredyes, consider State Council! • Why? • Once in a lifetime experience • Personal growth • Leadership skills • Nothing can compare • Represent a great organization • Act as a role model • Meet others from across the • state PA State Council with the New Mexico State Officer Team

  7. How to apply for State Council • Fill out an application or apply at State Days! • Get a time when you will be interviewed & present your presentation • Present your information in front of a panel of judges • Top candidates will be chosen and present to everyone at State Days • Some offices will be voted into, others will be chosen

  9. Start something today! But how?? ---Contact your local extension office -They can get you the information you need! ---Ask any of your State Officers if you have any questions! -They have been there too!
