  1. Luke 5:1-11 1 One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. 2 He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. 3 Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.  4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.” 5 “Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” 6 And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! 7 A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking. 8 When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.” 9 For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had caught, as were the others with him. 10 His partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, were also amazed.    Jesus replied to Simon, “Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people!” 11 And as soon as they landed, they left everything and followed Jesus. Rybári z nich vystúpili a prali siete. 3 Nastúpil do jedného člna, ktorý patril Šimonovi, a požiadal ho, aby ho trochu odrazil od brehu. Potom si doň sadol a odtiaľ kázal zástupom. 4 Keď skončil, navrhol Šimonovi: Odplav sa trochu ďalej, kde je voda hlbšia, a tam roztiahni siete." 5 Šimon namietol: Učiteľ, celú noc sme sa márne namáhali. No keď to ty vravíš, skúsime to ešte raz." 6 Vyplávali a vylovili také množstvo rýb, až sa im trhali siete.

  2. John 21:15-19 15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"       "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."  Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."  16Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"       He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."       Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." 17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"       Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."     Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.” ….Then he said to him, "Follow me!" 15 Keď sa najedli, rozvinul sa medzi Ježišom a Petrom tento rozhovor: Šimon, syn Jánov, miluješ ma väčšmi ako ostatní?" … A potom ešte dodal: “Nasleduj ma!"

  3. Rev 2:4-5 “Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love…. Repent and do the things you did at first.” “ Ale jedno vám vyčítam: Už ma nemilujete tak vrúcne ako na počiatku…zmeňte sa a konajte ako prv.”

  5. City on a hill “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:15 “Vy ste svetlo sveta. Ste ako mesto postavené na kopci, ktoré svieti do noci a všetci ho môžu vidieť.” Matúša 5:14

  6. Share I was looking for a church which would give spiritual enrichment as well as fellowship. In CityLight, I was able to find a church with foundations strong to build people and very much what I needed. I was surprised to know its only 2 years since the church was started.... as the way the service goes and the Word of God on Sundays is like a church which has been long enough. And the people made me feel so comfortable.... the Peters, Silvias, Erics, Heathers , Ivetkas, Dankas, Chad, Bartosiks, Niki and the big fellas ....... you need a 'pat' on your back... :) with love, Kathir

  7. Share Just to encourage you a little bit; I listen to your online sermons every week! It keeps me connected with you guys; tell Erik his background laughter is something I look forward to hearing. Give my regards and love to everyone in Citylight… And just to share a thought I had while I was driving today; “Christ loves us to the point of death, the death on a cross. And as if it wasn’t enough, He rose again and live eternally so He can love us forever”. I thank God for providing CityLight for me…. Keep the candle burning! Aylwin & LiAnne

  8. Share When we were preparing to move to Slovakia just one year into our marriage, we received a comment on our blog from Patrick, welcoming us to their new church in Bratislava. During our time in Bratislava, God was preparing us for some big changes in our future, and CityLight walked right alongside us. Now, continuing to work in ministry overseas (which we did not anticipate!), we are realizing more and more that CityLight is where our marriage's spiritual foundation was laid. God knew where he would be taking us, and he gave us CityLight to prepare us for the journey. Put simply, CityLight is our home church, and we miss it dearly. Mike & Heather

  9. Share How can I express all that it meant to me to have the opportunity to worship at CityLight while I was in Slovakia last year? … it meant so much to experience the welcoming of Christ’s body of believers as I came in the door. It is truly a ministry of love and sacrifice to be a part of this community of believers. Many of the people God calls there are only around for a short time; however, they feel embraced and welcomed in this place, just like I did. I was blessed to be alongside the faithful few who make up the core of this body and watch their loving service to and sacrifice for us all. Truly I felt inspired and strengthened. Where God will take this church is a matter of trust in His timing and provision, but we know you have been placed there for a witness to many. It is our prayer that more Slovaks join your ranks, and that more opportunities open up to witness to those who have never heard the real gospel preached or seen its power to change lives and heal hearts. God is good! Love and miss you all, Carol & Fred

  10. Share Your turn…. “ 15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Buďteza to vďační.16Majtestálenapamäti, čonásKristusučil, a čerpajte z jehoslovmúdrosť a obohatenie. Navzájomsapoúčajte a napomínajte.
