Introduction • when you decide to build a mobile app, you needed to decide which platform to target – whether Android, iOS or Windows etc. • Developers with different skill sets needed to be hired that could develop code for multiple platforms. But when its iOS version fell apart and had to be rebuilt as a native app, the hybrid apps approach also fell apart.

The Rise Of Cross Platform tools • The latest generation of tools or cross platform frameworks provides developers with the perfect means to develop cross platform apps. • Cross platform tools such as Xamarin, iFactr and Appcelerator etc. provide developers with the right tools to build quick prototypes and provide customers with customized mobile apps as per their requirements. • The main advantage of these tools was that there was a common language and all the concerns of HTML5 practically disappeared. • Performance was no longer an issue and these apps could also be developed with native user interface controls. • For these types of apps, you did not have to hire separate teams to develop mobile apps for Android and for iOS.

Conclusion • Finally, these apps have low maintenance costs as they have a single codebase and just one team can provide you with all the necessary support. • To sum it up, there is no single answer for mobile application development. You will need to decide the best approach for your business after considering costs and benefits.
