Establishment of PicMonkey • PicMonkey was made under creators of an older photo editing service called Picnik. • Google bought Picnik, Picnik was shut down in 2012 • Creators from Picnik created PicMonkey immediately after in 2012 • Google bought PicMonkey • Partner in crime: Flickr • PC Magazine named it Top 100 websites of 2013 • Found on Google’s list of online photo editing services:“What are some recommended photo editing sites?If you’re looking for a different photo editing site, try the Creative Kit in Google+, PicMonkey, or Aviary.”

  3. Cost efficient? • PicMonkey is actually a FREE editing service, unless… • Unless you want premium, which is 5 dollars more a month • Premium offers effects that are similar to using Photoshop. • No additional software is require, just the web..saving you money!

  4. Target Audience • Target Audience is definitely a younger audience • Great design and sense of humor, as well

Editing Features • Basic edits: Crop, resize, rotate, color tweaking, sharpening, auto adjust. • Effects, overlays, borders • Immediately save your work • Easy navigation to find effects • Premium gives you more options such as extra effects, ability to watermark photos, more collage features, more font options, more enhancements (nip tuck, teeth whiten, wrinkle remover, eye bright, etc.) • Free trial of premium for 1 week…I got hooked!

  6. How to: Enhance the photo • Go to picmonkey.com • Click the “edit” tab at top of browser • Upload your image to pic monkey • Locate various tools on left side of photo • Decide how you want to edit your photo

  7. Make a Goal and Go • Think of 5 words you want to convey • Start using the tools on the left hand side of screen • Crop, exposure, colors, sharpen, and more • Demonstrations
