  2. Personal Safety and Wellbeing Session 2 Personal relationships Cyber safety • Never give out personal details to anyone, especially other members of social web sites and online chat rooms. Particularly your home address and phone number. • Use a nickname instead.

  3. Personal Safety and Wellbeing Session 2 Personal relationships Cyber safety Meeting someone for the first time • Meeting someone that you've chatted to online is risky. But if you're still absolutely convinced and undeterred by risk of kidnap, abuse or worse, ensure that you meet in a public place, like a bar or a coffee shop. • Leave immediately if you feel uncomfortable

Personal Safety and Wellbeing Session 2 Personal relationships Cyber safety Meeting up with someone • Do not invite people to your home or accept an invitation to theirs until you feel you know them well enough to do so. • Tell someone where you are going and who you are meeting. Give them a phone number as well also let them know what time to expect you home.

  5. Personal Safety and Wellbeing Session 2 Personal relationships Cyber safety Meeting up with someone • Take some back-up. The person you are meeting should understand your concerns about safety, and often you can all meet in a group to make the meeting not only safer, but possibly more fun.

Personal Safety and Wellbeing Session 2 Personal relationships Cyber safety Meeting up with someone • Take your mobile phone. • Ensure it's fully charged • Have the number of a couple of reliable cab companies programmed in, • Ask a friend to call you at a pre-arranged time, to make sure that everything is going smoothly and to give you an excuse to get away if it isn't.

Cyber Bullying is a Criminal offence. If someone begins harassing you online, don't respond. Doing so will only egg them on. If it gets really bad, seek advice from your Tutor or security at College, a trusted friend or relative or, in serious situations, the police

Personal Safety and Wellbeing Session 2 Personal relationships, Bullying • Bullying can be: emotional, Physical, Racist, Sexual, Homophobic, verbal or Cyber • No one deserves to be a victim of bullying. • If you experience any aggression, verbal or Physical which causes you pain and distress please report this as soon as possible to your tutor, Student Union or a friend you feel comfortable sharing with

Hurting someone else or yourself • You won’t lose your mates, but if you do you may lose your self respect or worse freedom if you end up unintentionally hurting something or someone or yourself. • Real mates and friends are those who will respect you when you say NO
