  3. EULIS service vision • Vision for the EULIS service remains the same: ‘EULIS offers direct, easy, on-screen access to member land registers and reference information across Europe .’ • The EULIS website provides information on the official contacts and web links for land registration in European countries – free to all • EULIS is the first port of call for land and property information in Europe.

  5. What does EULIS have? • Organisation in place • Active participation • EEIG ready to be launched • Support from the Commission on two levels – DG Internal Market and DG Justice and Home Affairs • Vehicle for: • Giving national land registries a profile on a European level • Encouraging best practice in operations and services • Sound concept and foundation for development • EULIS is a springboard for eGovernment initiatives

  6. We recognise that Land Registries across Europe.... • are operating in a difficult financial climate. • are faced with a large and difficult change agenda. • will be challenged to comply with the European e-Justice Portal.

  7. We also recognise... • cost of membership shouldn’t be a barrier to participate in EULIS. • the EULIS technical solution must be modern and flexible in order to accommodate diversity in technology and information contents. • resources are initially required to build reference information.

  8. Making it happen • Involve as many European land registry organisations as possible • Partner with European Institutions and other stakeholders • Implement a viable operational model • Improve the service for the professional customers and European citizens • Make the reference information available free to all • Offer a recognised solution for meeting e-Justice obligations
