  3. Data Portal Progress Jan-Apr: Scoping, planning, applying for contract change to hire contractor. • Hired: Felimon Gayanilo (RSMAS) • May: First meeting at TAMU • June: Competitor Analysis • July: System Design Document • August: Coding Prototype

Data Portal Progress • Now receiving routine data uploads • from: DISL, COMPS, TABS • Soon from: CenGOOS; MOTE & LUMCON - working w/ WAVCIS & TCOON • Identified Subcontracting Tasks • metadata generation services, animated maps, upload ingest maintenance, web services • Next: Web Site Design Storyboard • Next: Web Site (beautification) • photoshop, flash, design • Preliminary Interviews next Thursday 21-August-08 - two companies

Standardization of Local Data Nodes • 3-years, ~$300K/yr (reduced to ~$225 year 2) • Shared equally with 10 nodes + PM + E/O • Tasks • Participate in IOOS Obs Registry • Adopt Common Dictionary • Serve Scalar and Vectors via Open Geospatial Consortium Web Services service interfaces (WFS, WCS) • IT Staff attend interoperability meetings.

  7. NOAA IOOS Data Integration Framework (DIF) • DIF technologies introduced to IOOS 2007 Grantees in Charleston Feb 2008 • NOAA encourages participation in that effort by grantees by • adopting common data model • adopting common metadata • adopting common OGC Web Services
