  6. Packaging Design Always thoroughly check the pdf artwork prior to approval Courier charges apply if change after pdf stage Always check the hard copy artwork prior to approval It is good practice to have an independent check Once approved, any change is charged to the Distributor

  9. Contract Packing Negative experience in the past. Resulted in packs which were illegal (text / BBE / trace). Risks are too high. No new contract packing in market – all to be done via LoF

  11. Order Process Distributor orders via Impex Impex IMMEDIATELY send the order to LoF (IBS) LoF Check 1 - Payment / Transport ? Check 2 - Have we a valid PI for all items? Check 3 - Have we the packaging for all items? Check 4 - Have we production capacity in time frame? Arrange the best delivery date and INFORM DISTRIBUTOR. Negotiate an agreed date - if necessary amend the order.

  12. Speeding up an Order Better forecasting. Plan well ahead with new or changed items. Ensure PI are in place prior to the order. Parent/Child orders will remove the minimum quantities. Approve artwork as soon as possible.

Integrated Business System Manufacture to GMP / FDA / MHRA standards Started on Value Stream Mapping programme 2009 “Current state” versus “Future state” Highlighted opportunities for ‘lean production”. Need for one data base, smooth flow of information Input data only once. Real time information to aid decision making.

Integrated Business System IBS will help speed up order processing When order entered – system will check:- Packaging instruction in place (UK can not order Salmiak) Efficient truck / container fit Packaging in warehouse / on order and will arrive in time Production capacity Is requested delivery feasible? Confirm or propose a realistic date

  17. Integrated Business System Behind schedule for introduction. Need 100% confidence that the system will work. Must have traceability back data & going forward No legacy system resulted in longer data entry. need. The “Go live” date is end April (2013) Stressful time for those involved!

  18. New product Development IBS will allow managers more time to manage. One area that is under resourced is “time” for NPD. We have a long term plan / vision. We also have short term activities. Both need managing. LoF & Impex “meet” weekly to progress all projects (Friday morning “Skype” meetings).
