  2. School Kit Sponsorship • Donated 4000 school kits in 2008. • Sponsorships from more than 1500 donors • May-July 2008. 2

  3. SEVA FELLOWSHIP- Volunteers Naveen Venkatesh Yogesh Somashekhar Shwetha Shwetha Suparna Keerthana Asreena Vinay • Rathan • Pallavi • Revathi • Srinidhi When the best and the brightest come together, possibilities are endless.

  4. SEVA FELLOWSHIP • 6 months of full time volunteering. • 14 Volunteers in fellowship program. • YFS chapter at Mysore started. • Coordination of field work across Bangalore. • Coordination of ‘Sponsor a child’ program.

  5. SEVA VACATION • Street plays to raise awareness about education. • Tribal villages and rural development projects. • Presentations in High schools. • Around 90 students participated in 2 batches (July and January). 5

Teach India • 3000 volunteers from ‘Teach India’ assigned to YFS. • 11 Induction programs attended by 1100 people. • Around 1000 active volunteers teaching in schools and slums. • Number of projects in Bangalore jumped from 25 to 90 in 4 months! • Many fellowship volunteers came from teach India.

Hospitals – Kidwai Cancer Institute • Children: Stories, Arts & Crafts, Games, movies. • Women: Rangoli competition on Sankranti. • Admin help from patients from villages. • For all: Yoga (Patanjali Yog Peet) • For all: Festivities (Sankranti, Yugadi, Christmas, etc.) • Awareness programs in villages and slums.

  8. Hospitals – St.Martha’s Stroke Patients Rehabilitation • Assisting in physiotherapy. • Help with walking. • Counseling the patients. • Financial help. • Awareness programs.

  9. Foreign Volunteers Engaged 5 volunteers from USA for 3 months • Worked with tuition centers in slums • Initiated volunteering at Kidwai hospital. • Taught spoken English in orphanages and slums. • Documented success stories of NGOs.

  10. YFS - Mysore • Government hostels. • Rural development work – Vijay Foundation. • Crash course organized for 10th std. students. • Appreciated by District Commissioner and other govt. officials. • Working with a hostel for village students run by NGO ‘Aim for Seva’.

  11. YFS-Bellary • Initiated by few Engineering students. • Working with students from ‘Chid Labour School’. • Assisting children from Shishu Mandira attended by children from nearby slums. • Providing support to seniors at an oldage home.

  12. ‘Sponsor a child’ program • Launched in March 2009. • For Rs.500/month, sponsor a child’s education and healthcare. • Mentors from our volunteers pool for every child we support. • How you can participate? • Sponsor a child. • Become a mentor. • Become a coordinator. • Spread the word. • Aiming to sponsor 1000 children. 12
