  1. Microsoft Image writer is a very handy program that is well worth installing on your computer • It comes as a standard feature in “Office XP” and Office 2003 (currently the latest version) • It enables you to print straight to an image rather than just paper. • There are many uses of this: • Emis attachments only handles “images”, so you may print ECG’s, documents etc to an “image” and then “attach” them • You may preview what a long document will look like before you commit to paper • You may print out reports from the toolkit as an image an email them to an appraiser

  2. If you do not have a copy of the latest version of Office it is available at almost no cost via a special agreement between Microsoft. Make use of this offer! Your PCT should be able to help you If you are installing Office fresh from disc (must be Office XP or Office 2003),press here for instructions on installing Image Writer If you are updating your installation of office already installed on your computer (must be Office XP or Office 2003),press here

  3. When you install Microsoft Office on your computer you may already have installed this program If you try to print a document then you will see ”Image writer” appear as a print option. If so, then congratulations you do not need to follow this presentation any further (press Esc to exit)

  4. Select “add/remove” programs Open “control panel” (accessed via the start menu)

  5. Select “Microsoft office”

  6. Select “Change”

  7. Select “Add or remove features”

  8. Tick the box for advanced customisation

  9. Click Next

  10. Select “Office tools”

  11. Select “Microsoft Office Document Imaging”

  12. Select “Microsoft Office Document Image Writer”

  13. Select “Run from My computer” Then Update

  14. You may be asked to insert the installation CD After installation the image writer will now appear as a printer
