  4. Purpose • Study of recruitment, residential locations and geographical mobility of workforce in connection with decentralisation of governmental agencies

  5. Methods • Qualitative ethnological studies – interviews with employees at Folkhälsoinstitutet and Försäkringskassan before and after relocation from Stockholm to Östersund • Quantiative econometric studies based on population register data (SCB).

HÖG GEOGRAFISK ARBETSKRAFTSRÖRLIGHET • Kraftig ökning av flyttningarna i åldersgruppen 20-30 år • Stark ökning av mellanregional pendling • Relativt små mellanregionala skillnader i arbetslöshet • Låg löneinflation, god arbetskraftsproduktivitetsutveckling • Matchningen på arbetsmarknaden fungerar väl

Regionala attribut som påverkar omflyttningen • Befolkningsstorlek (från mindre till större regioner) • Avstånd (minskar med avstånd) • Arbetslöshet (från regioner med högre till regioner med lägre arbetslöshet) • Lediga jobb (från regioner med färre till regioner med fler lediga jobb) • Antal högskoleplatser (ökar med antalet högskoleplatser) • Relativ tillgång på högskoleplatser (från regioner med färre till regioner med fler högskoleplatser)
