Graduation Requirements • TOTAL OF 18 CREDITS to earn High School Diploma: • 3 ENGLISH (one at each grade level) • 2 MATH • 2 SCIENCES (Sci10 + one from Bio11, Phy11, Chem11 or other approved Science course • 1 CANADIAN STUDIES (Mks11, Acs11, Chs11) • 1 FINE ARTS (Art, Music, Dance, IFA or Drama) • 1 PHYS. ED. (PheAL, Dance , Phys.Ed, Yoga, Judo, Exercise Science, Phys. Ed. Leadership 12) • 2 OTHERS from Math, Science or Tech • 1 GLOBAL STUDIES (Global Hist.12, Global Geo.12, Global Econ12) • No more than 7 grade 10 credits towards 18 mandatory • Minimum 5 grade 12 credits

  4. Credit Checks • Do a credit check to figure out what you already have, and what you will need over the next two years • We will have a personal credit check for you A block, later today, with registration worksheet

  5. What credits do you have? • Questions? Come ask in Student Services! • Grade 11 students are encouraged to make an appointment with their Guidance Counsellor, Mrs. Fisher, to ensure things are in place to support their future academic plans.

  6. Honours With Distinction • 90% average or higher in 6 academic, pre-IB, IB or advanced courses (including English) taken in current school year • No mark less than 80% in those 6 courses • At least a 50% in all courses in which student is enrolled • IB HL courses count as two courses • (check course selection guide)

  8. IB Courses • If you are signing up for IB courses, you must sign up for a minimum of 2 IB courses in the grade 11 year. • IB Math 11 and IB English 11 are paired together for the full year, must be taken together • If selecting IB French 11, you also need another IB course.

  16. Online Registration • Highlight the courses you are interested in on your Registration Worksheet • You must register for at least 7 courses in Grade 11 • Online Registration February 17th –March 4th, 2016

Online Registration Help • You can ask your teacher for advice about which course to take • Example: Ask your Science 10 teacher about how they think you would do in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Oceans, etc. What do they recommend? • Online registration help will be available in the library at lunch starting tomorrow • You can also make an individual appointment at Student Services
