  1. IFPSM Webinar: Do you feel lucky? IFPSM in partnership with the British Assessment Bureau

  2. Malcolm Youngson CEO IFPSM • Welcome • IFPSM Vision • IFPSM Mission • IFPSM Core Values

  3. The British Assessment Bureau • Background • What we do

  4. Why are we here? • Expressed simply, to save IFPSM members: • Time • Hassle • Cost • Reputation

  5. The world of certification and certifiers… • The role of the International Standards Organization (ISO)… • The role of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF)… • The role of National Accreditation Bodies (NABs)… • The importance of ISO 17021…

  6. I thought all certifiers were the same? • The lack of legal requirements creates loops holes… • Some certifiers are woefully short of competence… • Some certifiers misrepresent themselves… • Verification of the authority behind the certificate is the key!

  7. The safe bet… • Check the IAF website online for the respective NAB… • Drill-down from the NAB website to find the Certifier… • If it checks out, all well and good… • Don’t be misled by claims of ‘International Accreditation’

  8. In summary… you don’t need to gamble! • Procurement professionals have a duty of care… • A certificate of conformity isn’t valid until checked… • It’s the same as checking references… • Be confident and rest assured, by checking online.

  9. And finally… there are two checks to make! • One… check the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) website to verify that the accreditation body claimed is listed (e.g. UKAS) • Two… check the website of the respective National Accreditation Body to ensure the Certifier is listed (e.g. the British Assessment Bureau)

  10. IFPSM CEO’s close… • Q+A Session • Feedback-“The Breakfast of Champions!” • Next Webinar Topics and partnerships • Thanks to British Assessment Bureau

  11. Thank you! Any Questions? Malcolm Youngson Chief Executive m.youngson@ifpsm.org @IFPSMofficial David Fenn Chief Executive david.fenn@british-assessment.co.uk @davidfenn
